Understanding the importance of choosing the right running shoes is like discovering a key to your athletic success. They’re not just shoes – they’re the tools that support your performance, protect against injury and help you feel confident during training and competition.
But with the abundance of models on the market, how do you choose the right ones for your needs? We’ll give you a few pointers to guide you in choosing your next pair in store.

Speaking of sneakers, but before that, we want to remind you that it’s time again for the inspiring initiative of our partner Multisport – Sneaker Day! Started in 2019 with the goal of encouraging more people to lead an active lifestyle, this initiative has grown and become an inspiration for good over the years.

So save the date March 22, 2024 – this day has a special purpose – to help children and youth with disabilities live their summer full of smiles and unforgettable memories!

For each visit with a MultiSport card, our partners will donate 1 BGN for the organization of a therapeutic summer camp with horse riding for these amazing children and youth from the family centers of the “CEDAR” Foundation in Kazanlak.

Sport has the power to change lives, create connections and make us better people. Let’s show that together we can do something great!

Basic criteria to consider when choosing fitness shoes

1. Sole

The sole should provide good grip on the floor, as well as comfort during jumping and running. You know that more intense exercises like HIIT require lighter and more flexible soles, and if you’re a heavy lifter, this type of shoe will work against you.

A soft sole takes away from your strength during strength training with heavier weights, so you need to be in shoes with a firmer sole. This way you will be able to increase your strength and improve your results in the gym.

2. Ankle support and stability

Speaking of weight training, let’s add how important it is for shoes to provide proper ankle support to prevent injury and improve foot stability. Ankles are often overlooked during warm-ups and proper footwear, but they are at the heart of every movement and need to be given the attention they need to be able to…challenge yourself with an extra 10 pounds on your favorite exercise. 🙂

3. Ventilation

Good gym shoes should be made of breathable materials to prevent moisture build-up and steaming during exercise.
Running shoes with breathable materials such as mesh or textile uppers are preferred, especially for training in humid conditions or high intensity training. That way they will be able to dry faster after your visit to the gym or after you have thrown them in the washing machine.

4. Ease and flexibility

Shoes should be light and flexible, allowing freedom of movement and comfort during the various exercises.
This is essential for performing a variety of exercises, such as running, jumping and lifting light weights, without tiring quickly. We also recommend them for our group activities, which you can view here. 🙂

5. Durability and quality of materials

The quality of the materials is important for the durability of the shoes and their ability to withstand intense training. We guarantee that choosing better sneakers will pay off in the future. In addition to being able to wear them longer, they will be gentler on your feet and will accordingly affect your posture and exercise performance.

6. Appropriate size and shape

Shoes should fit your individual feet, providing enough room for the toes and a proper fit in the ankle and heel area. The more comfortable you feel in your running shoes, the more beneficial your workout will be. Your mind will be focused entirely on the execution of the exercises, and not on where the shoe is killing you or how to stand so that toe that is stuck in the corner because there is not enough space does not hurt.

7. Style and design

Although not a primary criterion, shoe design can be an important factor for some people who want to feel confident and motivated during exercise. You may have heard the theory that buying new workout gear can motivate you to hit the gym. Well, the same logic applies to sneakers.
